With support for Blizzard's Battle.net and finely tuned unit balancing (which is regularly refined with patches) Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne makes for a thrilling online experience.

The very flexible map editor and the integrated downloading system allows any player to create and distribute maps and provides a huge arsenal of alternative game modes for players who aren't fond of the original RTS style. It has also spawned several enormously successful map series such as DotA (Defence of the Ancients) and Tower Wars.
