Western Digital My Book Studio 2nd-gen
The Western Digital My Book Studio 2nd-gen is a quad interface external hard drive that can connect to a Windows or Macintosh computer via one of four interface options: FireWire 400/800, eSATA, or USB 2.0. The hard-drive comes in a RAID 0 (striped disks) configuration, which means that the data is more efficiently distributed for improved data processing. Users have the option to pursue a RAID 1 (mirrored) configuration, in which half of the hard drive space is used to MIRROR the original data for enhanced data protection. Signature to the My Book Studio Edition II (2nd-Gen) is that it is user serviceable, in that one need only open the case and replace the existing drive if they wish to upgrade. No screwdrivers are required.
