The Western Digital My Passport Elite model is a high-end external hard drive that is designed for both in-home, and business use. The Passport Elite hard drive is built with a very slim and compact body that is encompassed in a slip-free soft touch finish so that the drive is easier to grip. It features an available, 500GB, 400GB, 320GB or 250GB storage capacity, with a 2mb drive cache and a speed of 5400rpm. The Passport Elite hard drive comes with support for safe shutdown software which prevents the hard drive from being shut down while files are being transferred, an energy efficient functionality that automatically turns the hard drive on and off with the connected computer, and plug and play storage functionality which means that it is compatible with all PC's and Mac's without any lengthy installation.
