Western Digital My Passport Essential 2nd-gen

The Western Digital My Passport Essential 2nd-gen is an ultra-portable and colorful external hard drive built for both Windows and Macintosh desktop or notebook computers. It is available in four sizes (250/320/500/640) and five colors (black/white/blue/red/silver). As a downgrade from the Passport Elite, the Essential throws out the docking station and capacity gauge in favor of affordability. However, connectivity is also based off USB 2.0 technology. Plus, the Essential hosts Western Digital’s SmartWare software, which ensures data is both safe and backed up at all times.
