Western Digital WD ShareSpace

The Western Digital WD ShareSpace is a quadruple-drive, network storage unit that connects via Gigabit Ethernet to a small office or home network and is available in 2TB, 4TB and 8TB capacities. The preloaded Anywhere Access software is web-based which means you access the drive from your web browser via a Java Applet, where you can see the drive contents and perform other management duties. Different RAID configurations are offered, with the 8TB version coming with RAID 5 as standard and the 2TB version shipping with a RAID 0 or, 'striped' formation, although any of the three possible formations can be achieved without reformatting the system should you decide to swap out the drives with new ones. There are a total of three USB ports including one in the front which let you connect other external drives for quick file transfer or just more storage space. As well as being a good way to centralize common files in an office, it is also DLNA certified which means you can use it as a home media hub that can stream video and audio to your entertainment system and other devices such as Xbox or PlayStation.
