Whirlpool WFW9050XW
$649.00
Released January, 2010
The Pros:Good value - can do fairly large loads given its price. Efficient - will likely save users a noticeable amount of money off their next utility bill. Works quickly - effectively cleans clothes in an acceptable time frame.
The Cons:Needs to be cleaned frequently - can develop a mold smell when opening the door. Can't add last-minute articles of clothing due to its front-loading design. Not very quiet - can start to rumble violently.
The Whirlpool WFW9050XW is a budget-friendly Energy Star & CEE Tier III Qualified washer featuring a 4.0 Cu Ft stainless steel wash basket that can wash up to 16 pairs of jeans in a single load. The unit lacks many of the advanced functions available in competitor models from higher-level series (An LCD display, versatile wash cycle options, audio feedback, etc), but it host the basic essentials.

For instance, included is a 1100rpm spin system that uses on shock absorbers, springs and electronic controls to automatically redistribute the load, thereby minimizing wash drum movement. Also featured is a Care Control Temperature Management system that adjusts the water temperature to ensure detergents dissolve, but clothes don’t shrink. Unfortunately the Whirlpool WFW9050XW is limited to only 3 temperature options and 6 cycles; users needing more advanced options should look elsewhere.
