- Provides good general overviews of many topics (uncontroversial ones)
Cons
- Sometimes the subject of controversies over the accuracy of its content
- Editorial process is highly political
- Groups seize control of articles to promote their viewpoints or interests
- Phony experts can easily add bad information (confidence, supporting detail)
- Obsessive types add huge quantities of irrelevant detail and/or references to video games and TV shows
- Individuals add articles which promote themselves and/or their products
