The WowWee Spyball is a remote control wi-fi enabled webcam that can conveniently wheel or roll around under full command. The Spyball was announced alongside WowWee's latest devices at the 2009 CES event in Las Vegas. The Spyball is a mid-grade webcam packed with additional features to keep users of all ages entertained. It features a round ball-like body design that includes built-in wheels which help it move about freely. An integrated camera allows the Spyball to snap pictures in a full 360 degrees and capture video which can be transmitted to a local or remote computer through the included software. The device can connect to a home or office network in ad-hoc mode or infrastructure mode; meaning users can control the device remotely over the internet from a distanced location, but can also control the device locally if desired. The camera can be hidden inside the unit or popped up like a submarine periscope; the device can also be controlled via a remote for local use. The WowWee Spyball would be great for the office; particularly keeping an eye on the employees or checking on the kids while at home. It is scheduled for a release sometime in Q4 of 2009 and will retail for around $169.
