The XFX MB-N780-ISH9 is a "high-octane" motherboard, which supports TRI-SLI straight out of the box through 3 PCI-e x16 slots; yes, that means three high end graphics cards installed at once. The N780 also supports up to 8GB Dual Channel 800MHz DDR2 ram (4 slots), and has an LGA 775 socket for support with Intel Penryn 45nm, Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, and Pentium processors up to 1333MHz FSB. There is however a general consensus that the BIOS must be updated to version P07 at the least for those installing an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 processor. With that said, the N780 also provides 8 channel High-Definition audio outputs, and a dual gigabit LAN which can be used to get twice the normal bandwidth. Of course there is also IDE, 2 PCI, 1 PCI-e, 3 PCI-e x16, 10 USB, 2 RJ-45, 1 1394a firewire, and 6 SATA ports. The N780 was first released on December 22, 2007 and retails at an MSRP of $199.99.
