This receiver was simultaneously released along with the step-up Yamaha RX-V3900, and higher-end Yamaha RX-Z7; the RX-V3900 adds SRS Circle Surround II, a 2nd HDMI output, Rhapsody, HDMI deinterlacing and scaling, PReP (Progressive ReProcessing) with the ABT 2010 chipset, OSD improvements, and Zone 2 video. The RX-Z7 extends this further by adding a 5th HDMI inputs, more surround programs, a 4th zone, and component video on the Zone 2.
