This appears to be one of the fullest featured receivers in this price range. Perhaps the biggest improvement over the predecessor (3800) is the video processing. Speculation is that the chip is the ABT 2010, the only ABT chip with PReP. This is a step up from the 3800 which used an ABT scaler chip, and some no name deinterlacer chip. Instead, the 2010 is a video processor on a chip and "should" have an excellent deinterlacer.

Some other bonuses over the 3800 are two HDMI outputs, multi-point YPAO, HD Radio and more music streaming features.

You make some good points, MJHuman. I'm curious to read through owner's experience with the video processor. When you take these pros into consideration, it doesn't seem worth it to go for the (also expensive) step-down RX-V1900.

Any confirmation that this does not (or does) do HDMI to HDMI upscaling?

HDMI upscaling is confirmed by the manual, and will be soon comfirmed now that people have the receiver in their hands.
