The Yamaha YSTMSW8 is a powered subwoofer released in 2001. As with most sound equipment released along with it, the subwoofer uses Yamaha Active Servo Technology to optimize the interactions between speaker, the enclosure, and the amplifier. The YST line are all compatible with IBM PC computers, Macs, portable CD players, cassette players, game consoles and any standard audio output jacket. It also is an item that will be difficult to find new, and may only be able to be purchased used. The amplifier output is 15 watts, the frequency response 40 Hz - 250 Hz, it has a 5" cone speaker unit, weighs 8.8 lbs, and has magnetic shielding.
