Long time since i posted.

A bit of an odd one here.

Anyone know a good mouse that works amazingly well on odd surfaces (couches, wrinkled sheets...)

I have a logitech lx 710 laser mouse right now. It's pretty good... much better than most I've used. But it does 'jump' once in a while.

Anyone know of a better mouse or better technology for this kind of use.

"yeah, I can't figure out this recent trend in decks. They don't seem to have preset buttons. Even the pioneers, kenwoods, alpines... I talked to my installer and he said they started switching to give more room for the display."

"I originally had the NetGear WG111T, which wasn't very good. I purchased the linksys wireless N usb adapter and have 0 complaints. It just works and works well. It costs a bit more, but for something I use every day, it was worth the extra money. That said, I currently only have a wireless G router so I am not taking advantage of the wireless N features yet."

I recently added a review for a netgear WG111T wireless adapter.

It's not very good :P But in the section "People who liked this, also liked" it lists a bunch of other products I reviewed.

I'm just curious how this calculated. How does it know that I 'like' this product (which I don't :P...i just tagged it as 'have it'?

Hi,

Do any of you know of a good .NET forum package for a website?

I know there are plenty of forum packages you can use, but I'm specifically looking for one that allows you to use your own authentication system. I'm not even sure if this is possible, or maybe its really easy :)T

"well, i've finally bit the bullet and got a new system with vista home premium. No complaints so far. Rock solid, clean (after I configured it right), sleeps, hibernates, wakes up, works great. Boots up really fast. I really like the windows media center that comes with it by default."

HellBoy II

I just saw the movie and I enjoyed it. It is very much like the 1st one, only funnier.

The movie has great acting, humor, action. The plot itself is a little blah and I won't spoil it for you, but there is a really easy way they could have defeated the bad guy. I was waiting for Klauss or the Abe to say it, but it never came.

This isn't a deep movie or anything. Yet, it is darn good at doing what it is. It's a summer action flick and Hellboy makes fora great character. Here's hoping they don't ruin the 3rd one like they did spiderman3.

I wonder if it's good to do this for 'software' in general. New versions are always coming out that dramatically change the applications. Sometimes a pro/con might only be specific to a version.

For example we could have a base entry for pidgin the subentries for pidgin releases.

I don't know if this is needed though. Maybe it would be easier to just alter the pros/cons/writeup for the latest version of the software.

Something in my head thought the oem would be like 50 bucks. Turns out that vista basic oem is over 100. should be comiing soon. Does anyone know why amazon does not ship to canada for stuff other than (book, games...) ?

I heard that it is because books are a protected industry and canada...hence Indigo/chapters... and they have to have their business done in Canada. When you buy a book from amazon.ca, it is actually canadapost doing the logistics and shipping. They had to do this to overcome protectionist measures. You're not really buying from the amazon supply chain.

This makes it hard for amazon to sell to canada as their whole system is integrated. Being a small market, it is not worth expanding into canada facing this kind of barrier.

Anyone know if this is true?

my vote would be to go to the category.

It seems to be more of just a sample picture for the category.

On a side note, I kind of miss the category links on the main page. Just from my perspective, what is more important to put on the main page

1. Recent changes / featured people

2. links to the product categories

How about on the main page, removing the reccent changes/featured people lists and replacing them with the same category list that appears on http://www.productwiki.com/products/ (right panel) ?

I bought myself a cheepo 32 inch LCD tv (Envision 1080i).

I saw it in the store alongside the samsungs and sonys, and I couldn't see a difference in color or clarity. Then again, 160 bit mp3s are fine for my ears too :) So take that for what it is. If you're an audiophile or videophile, maybe you can see/hear the differences. These days i'd imagine the quality of any of these LCDs is 'good enough'

The only stat I did pay attention to at the time was the responste rate. I made sure to get one thats 8m/s at least. I haven't noticed any ghosting and I have played games on my tv.

That said, afew of the things I'd suggest you look at outside of the 'specs'

1. input. My cheepo LCD has loads of input and are all conveniently placed. HDMI, VGA, component... Its quick and easy to hookup a PC or gaming system as it has some of the inputs along the side of the tv...others at the back.

2. on screen menu: I've come to be annoyed at the fact my tv doesn't have a clock! I would never have thought of that...i always thought it was a given. Also the font is too small on the on screen menu. Little things like this matter a heck of a lot more than a bit of extra resolution or what not IMHO.

Contacting logitech support, I expect just a usb dongle as a replacement. they shipped me an entire new product within just a few days. I have another keyboard/mouse just laying around as extra. "We've had this old tv for about 10 years now. It's worked as well as you can expect. The only issue we've had is that the TV started flickering on and off. Play with it a bit until the picture is restored. The screw is located just behind all the inputs on the rear. Hi,

was wondering if we could add a way to tag articles. I don't think there is one right now, unless I missed it.

It could appear similar to your 'have it' 'love it'... lists.

My own experience:

I was browsing some recent changes and found an article for a DIY computer. I had a parts list I would have like to use as a reference. Yet, there was no way to bookmark the article within productwiki. Articles have del.ic.ious links and what not, but it would be nice to have something internal to productwiki.
