6 videos: Customers get even

Last Friday, 20/20 aired a segment entitled Customers get even showcasing how consumers are using the power of the Internet video to broadcast their respective "beefs" with some of the biggest companies (Comcast, AOL, HP, Apple, GE) around.

I've compiled the collection of videos referenced in the segment. Alternatively, you can see the original segment here on a 20/20 In touch webcast.

I believe that this sort of consumer empowerment is an emerging trend, if not already emerged phenomena, that the big guys should take notice of. John Stossel agrees with me. (sweet!)

1. A Comcast Technician Sleeping on my Couch

A Comcast customer records a Comcast technician sleeping on his couch. Fittingly set to I Need Some Sleep by the Eels.

2. Vincent Ferrari tries to cancel his AOL account

The process takes 15 minutes for a customer to cancel his AOL account. He recorded the phone conversation.

You've got horrible service!

3. A US Soldier opens fire on his crappy HP 510 printer

4. QVC Ladder Mishap

This live broadcast on QVC is guaranteed to sell a lot of product. /sarcasm

5. Don't buy GE's GXCF20E Water Dispenser

I think that the legitimacy of this consumer's problem are in dispute. Maybe you should buy this water dispenser.

6. iPod's dirty little secret

Apple has since rectified the battery life problem pointed to by this video.
