Zeitgeist is the seventh studio album released by Smashing Pumpkins, but the first to release since the groups disbandment in 2000. Jimmy Chamberlin (drummer) and Billy Corgan (singer, lead guitarist) were the only two members from the original Smashing Pumpkins to participate in the making of this album. Corgan stated that he wanted to make a mainstream rock album, comment on the political climate of the United States, and explore the nature of the band as well as his friendship with Chamberlin.

Great rockin' album! Its structure is close to Siamese Dream, and the music stays true to first release Gish. It is a high energy alternative rock album staying true to Corgan and the bands roots. Corgan's vocals are awesome in this album. I highly recommend this album.

This album reminds me a lot of Siamese Dream. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is awesome as well (mabey a bit on the softer side).
