In the independent testing that I've studied, it has only been bettered by the Channel Master CM-7000 when using the Channel Master's S-Video output (N/A on the ZAT-970). Another cool thing about the box is the event timer - handy for use with DVR/VCR recording. Most other converter boxes don't have this, and this is the only one I know of that both has an event timer and is also among those rated in the top tier for video quality. Also, the event timer on this model is more capable than most if not all of the others...
