Zu is a mythical mountain range in Sichuan, China, where legends of immortals with amazing powers take up residence. In the past, a war broke out between the good immortals and the evil demons. It started when Blood Demon, the leader of the evil forces, led the demons on an assault on Zu. In the middle of the war, a relic known as Oracle Rock was created, and on its surface was the Heavenly Scripture that held the secret to stop the Blood Demon. The immortal clans hurried to their way to the Oracle Rock, but Blood Demon and his followers was already waiting in ambush. An intense battle ensue, and the Oracle Rock itself was smashed into many crystal-like shards and scattered all over the Zu world.[1]

The game starts 10 years after the battle at Oracle Rock, with the players entering Zu as one of the Five Clans of Zu to continue the battle against Blood Demon and the evil demons. The world of Zu is slowly showing effects of corruption by the evil...

The Five Clans: There are 5 character classes to choose from: Bead Fairy, Moon Maiden, Summoner, Sun Warrior, and Swordsman. Players can have up to five characters per account, and will also have access to over 250 skills between the five classes.

Faction System: Players are able to join one of the 3 factions: Tai, Wu and Xun. Each faction is hostile to each other, so players can fight with other players in the opposing factions.

Quest System: In Zu Online, the Quest System features quests with clear goal directions. Thus, whether players are new or experienced they can easily find suitable quests for their levels. However, there is a limit on how many quests one can receive at a time. Players can check their progress in the Quest Log.

Mansion System: Players can join Guilds and compete for mansions that are unoccupied. The winner has the right to develop the mansion, including building city vehicles, city gates, shops and a pet area. It is also possible to set the flying route into the mansion, setting gate guards, gate deity beasts and watch beasts of the mansion and collecting materials etc.

Pet System: Players are able to equip a pet when they have reached a certain level.[2] Feeding pets can increase their satiation degree and experience, while letting them join battles can increase their intimacy degrees and allow them to learn skills (Resilience, Regeneration, Rejuvenation, Resistance, Move Speed, Garrote, Critical) experience. The pets can be ridden by one or two players when fully grown up. The appearance of the pet may be changed through feeding.

The Ability to Fly: There are NPCs offering automated flight in every region. Each flight will have different costs depending on the distance and region level.[3]

Daily Events: Everyday there are special events that every player can join, limited only by each event's level requirements. It is scheduled all around the clock, with 3 possible times to join per day. These events have great rewards in the form of massive experience points and items.
